Grade 2 Unit 4 The Wonder of Math
In this unit, children are invited to see math as more than numbers on a page—it’s a way of thinking, exploring, and noticing patterns in the world around them. Through hands-on activities, puzzles, and creative problem-solving, they build confidence and joy in their mathematical abilities.
They will:
- Practice tackling math problems using different strategies, building perseverance and flexibility.
- Notice and describe mathematical patterns in numbers, shapes, and daily life.
- Bring together place value, addition, subtraction, and early multiplication in meaningful contexts.
- Share their thinking clearly with words, numbers, and visuals.
- See mistakes as part of learning and celebrate the “aha!” moments of discovery.
Children will come to understand that math isn’t just about right answers—it’s about curiosity, creativity, and discovery. They’ll leave this unit seeing themselves as capable mathematicians.
This purchase includes one digital curriculum unit with 15 days of lesson plans and 5 days of flexible projects. This unit will inspire you with beautiful images, clear instructions and exciting project ideas.
And that's not all. You will also gain access to the Wonder Hub, which includes supporting documents, videos, resources, and community.

Connection: Your child will spend the weeks of the unit practicing the four processes with numbers up to 1,000,000.
Language Arts:
Concept: Stories and other texts connect us to ourselves, our families, and our communities.
