Grade 2 Unit 6 The Wonder of Times Tables
"The Wonder of Times Tables" unit promises to inspire students as they delve into the beauty of numbers, developing a deep understanding of place value and comfort using the four processes. Students will strengthen their foundational math skills, deepen their computational fluency in working with addition and subtraction of numbers up to 1,000,000, and focus on times tables through skip counting. They will gain insight into the rhythm of events that shape individual, family, community, and country identities.
Each day, you will focus on a new times table and create a visual representation for each table. The living picture running through each day will come from stories of time and place. Time and place will allow for themes of connectedness and identity to emerge. You will use the seasons to help you look at the rhythm of events that shape the identity of the individual, the family, the community, and the country. With the stories of the seasons in the background, the times tables will reveal their own interconnectedness as your child discovers what tables share factors.
Discover a dynamic and immersive learning experience that intertwines mathematical concepts with engaging storytelling, providing students with a deeper appreciation for the wonder of times tables and their interconnectedness.
This purchase includes one digital curriculum unit with 15 days of lesson plans and 5 days of flexible projects. This unit will inspire you with beautiful images, clear instructions and exciting project ideas.
And that's not all. You will also gain access to the Wonder Hub, which includes supporting documents, videos, resources, and community.

Learning Standards
Concepts: Numbers to 100 represent quantities that can be decomposed into 10s and 1s. Development of computational fluency in addition and subtraction with numbers to 100 requires an understanding of place value.
Connection: Your child will spend the weeks of the unit practicing the four processes with numbers up to 1,000,000, focusing on times tables and skip counting. Carrying and borrowing with addition and subtraction will also be practiced.
Language Arts:
Concepts: Stories and other texts connect us to ourselves, our families, and our communities. Through listening and speaking, we connect with others and share our world.
Connection: Your child will hear Fables and stories about the human connection to seasons and place, including a look at family traditions.
