Curriculum Overview
This unit will delve into daily life in ancient Egypt. The focus will be around the geography of the land and the importance of the Nile River. Your child will gain an appreciation for the natural resources of the Nile, and the gifts it offered. Each day you will be guided to introduce a new and interesting aspect of ancient Egyptian life, along with some of the myths and stories of the culture. At the same time, this unit offers an opportunity for an independent project. Your child will be working on it during Week 2 and 3, and can take more time in Week 4, if needed. It will entail a written story, an artistic project, and an oral presentation.
